Walter Von Nessen (1889-1943) brass cat bookends for chase, USA, 1930s, machine age. Iconic cat bookends in solid brass for the chase brass and copper co. of Waterbury Ct., circa 1932. In original condition with dark brass patina. Some bleed through patina on one of the cat's face and back legs. In image 6, you can see the impressed: PAT APPLD FOR on the edge of the base. They are typically marked on the underside with the chase centaur logo. We did not remove the felt.
