Aldo Londi for Bitossi Cinese Vase, Ceramic, Red-Orange, Gold, Italy, 1960s. The cylindrical body is covered in a richly textured red-orange glaze, with a tapered gold-glazed base decorated with impressed spiral circles. Signed in black glaze on the underside: "52/3A ITALY." Londi's Cinese series drew from the forms and patinas of ancient Chinese bronze vessels, coinciding with the chinoiserie trend in home interiors of the 1950s–60s. Examples of this series are often found with distributor decals, not present on this vase.
