Bill Curry Design Line Threaded Nut Bookend, California Modern, 1960's

Bill Curry for Design Line Nut Bookend, Nickel Chrome, Cast Iron, Signed. Jumbo sized, heavy eight-sided nut form bookend with real threads, finished in nickeled chrome over iron. The polished nickel front and back are contrasted with a smooth pebbled texture of the top, bottom and sides. The weight of the bookend is 16 pounds.

Design Line was based in El Segundo, California and was founded by Bill Curry, 1927–1971. By 1969, Curry's reputation had developed to the point that the Los Angeles Times would describe him as "One of California's leading designers."
