Baldon was a leading Southern California architect and swimming pool designer whose furniture married the sleek minimalism of modernist design with materials reminiscent of the region’s Spanish Colonial heritage. I had the privilege to speak with Baldon about her designs in 2014, shortly before she died; she remarked that the X-bench was her "favorite thing".
