An early painting by Victor Burgin (b. 1941), executed at the Royal College of Art, London, where he received his A.R.C.A. (1st Class) in 1965, before completing his M.F.A. at Yale University in 1967. Burgin subsequently abandoned painting for conceptual and photographic practice, making this hard-edge geometric work a rare surviving example from his formative years.
